MetaVigil
Privacy
Last updated:
MetaVigil is a wellness support tool. The privacy posture below reflects how the product is built today. We update this page when the product changes; the version date is at the top.
What we collect
From the sensor. WiFi Channel State Information — raw radio measurements of how 2.4 GHz signals reach the device. We process this on-device into wellness summaries (breathing rate, motion level, presence, fall events). The raw CSI buffers age out within minutes of capture and are never persisted.
From the wellness summaries. Per-resident snapshots: timestamp, breathing rate, motion level, presence flag, signal-quality score. These persist for the duration of the resident's enrollment.
From you (the caregiver). Account information — name, email, the phones you want alerts on — and any messages you send us through the contact form or the app.
What we don't collect
- No audio. Ever. There is no microphone in the sensor.
- No video or images. Ever. There is no camera.
- No location tracking beyond the room the sensor is installed in.
- No biometric identifiers that uniquely identify a person across devices.
Who can see it
Only the caregivers explicitly designated by the resident or their authorized representative (Power of Attorney, guardian). Nobody else. We don't sell data and we don't share it with advertisers — there is nothing there for an advertiser to want.
How long we keep it
- Raw CSI signal: minutes.
- Wellness snapshots: as long as the resident is enrolled, plus 30 days for support continuity. Configurable down to "delete on revocation" per the consent form.
- Account information: until you delete the account.
- Contact-form messages: in our inbox until we reply and resolve them, then archived.
Your rights
You can:
- See a copy of the wellness data we hold about a resident, on request.
- Delete historical wellness data subject to applicable retention rules.
- Revoke consent at any time. Revocation takes effect immediately.
To exercise any of these, email hello@metavigil.care. We respond within a business day.
A note on medical devices
MetaVigil is a wellness support tool. It is not a medical device, it does not diagnose anything, and it does not replace nurse-call systems, emergency services, or clinical care. If a resident is in distress, call 911 or your facility's nurse call.
Changes to this page
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we update the date at the top and note the change in our public changelog. We will not quietly weaken these commitments.
